Meet Jody

Jody Salerno, Owner of Personal Safety Alliance

Jody offers sought-after safety seminars and classes nationwide. Women realize that they can defend themselves, they just need the confidence and skill set to do so.

Jody is a NRA Certified Firearms Instructor, Instructor with the nationally recognized Refuse To Be A Victim program, spokesperson and facilitator for A Girl and A Gun Women’s Shooting League, and a competitive shooter with the Rudy Project USA Shooting Team for The International Defensive Pistol Association, United States Practical Shooting Association, Steel Challenge and 3 Gun.

Jody launched Personal Safety Alliance to empower women. Personal and tragic events in her life reinforced the need for her to take responsibility for her own protection and safety. Her firearms training began in 2013 which led to her becoming a NRA Certified Instructor.

Jody's History

In Her Own Words

I bought my first gun 4 years ago after my divorce. I found myself on my own for the first time in my life after 27 years of marriage. I knew that I needed to be able to protect myself and that I was vulnerable. 

The First Firearms Training Class

I took my first class, which was a very basic beginner’s class and perfect for me. During my second training class, I was introduced to shooting under and around barricades. It was so much fun!  After that, I was totally hooked on the sport! It made me realize that if I enjoyed shooting this much (after being afraid of handling guns), then there must be a lot of other women out there just like me that don’t know what they are missing! I turned into a self proclaimed training junkie and I am to this day.

The Feeling of Empowerment

After successfully learning about the way the gun worked and learning the fundamentals of shooting and hitting my target, I not only felt empowered, but the fear that I had of the gun was gone. Doing something that empowers you, can also help save your life or the life of one of your loved ones.
